    Posted Jul 22, 2021 07:20 AM

I create an application with powerapps, and i need to filter between 3 combobox "Country" " Project" and "Contract"

    Filter between 3 combobox

. Like you can see in the picture. I want to display the projects associated with the chosen country & Contract, and the sae thing for the 3 combobox. How can i do this please ? And i have another question, is it necessary that the 3 columns must be in the same sharepoint list so that I can filter between them ?

    Thank you !!

    Hi @Ahmed Njimou,
A bit more information would be helpful. It is ideal that they be in the same list, however as long as Country and Project and fields in the same list and Projects and Contracts are the same, you can filter. What is your list structure, names and field names and the names of your drop-downs?

Here is some research I did on what I called Parent - Child hierarchy lookup filtering. It is D365 centric but D365 is really a PowerApp.

Create dependent/cascading lookup fields. For example, your first lookup field would point to the cars entity, when "Honda" is chosen, the second lookup will only show the Make options for Honda. The third Model lookup field would only show the options for the Honda  Accord.

Filtered Lookups vs. Dependent Option Sets Brings up both options and shows Filtered Lookups with a link to the Microsoft Documentation on Dependent Option Sets

    Filtered Lookups:
This is the OoB functionality but filters out values based on the relationship so entity to entity

Self-referential relationship.  There is also a similar relationship on the account entity called Parent Account -which is a lookup to account and then also have a Child Account subgrid.

Dependent Option Sets - This solution requires hard coding values.
