Get Table with All applied Internal and External filters except on one column

  • 1.  Get Table with All applied Internal and External filters except on one column

    Hi All -

    Hi! Seeking guidance -

    Is there any way I can return a table with all the explicit and implicit filters applied, within calculate function, but remove filter, if any, on one column?

    I tried with ALLSELECTED and it gives correct result by month until I do not pull any other dimension/column. I understand that ALLSELECTED is keeping All External Filters context but then taking off any applied internal filter. Here is the formula. Any suggestion is much appreciated.

    PriorMonthSales =

    CALCULATE([+FY20Sales],

    FILTER(

    ALLSELECTED(FY20MonthlyData),

    FY20MonthlyData[Period]=PriorMonth)

    ),

    blank())

    Hi Gaurav,

    For both single column and multiple columns filter predicates, using KEEPFILTERS is a better choice than writing an explicit FILTER function using VALUES or SUMMARIZE to get the correct initial granularity – based on the existing filter context. KEEPFILTERS provides better performance and simplifies the code for single column filters.

    Please let me know if the helps!

    Thanks Shariq. I tried with keepfilters but it didn't work. Any chance you could create what you are trying to indicate with the logic?

    Thanks!
